Nominated for a Voice Arts Award!

Couldn’t be more thrilled to be nominated for a Voice Arts Award this year in the Outstanding Animation Demo category!  My wife and I will be flying out to LA for the ceremony held on Nov. 13th at the Warner Bros Studio.  As a native Louisvillian, it’s especially thrilling to be there for the inaugural presentation of the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor at this year’s ceremony.

Huge thanks to Rudy Gaskins, Joan Baker, the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences, all the esteemed jurors, and the best producer on Earth, Chuck Duran.  Congratulations to all the nominees!

Skechers Go Walk 3 Commercial Playing During the Olympics

“Did I hear your voice during the Olympics?”  A question every voice actor wants to hear right after picking up their phone.

Already incredibly honored to be the voice for this Skechers commercial currently airing nationally in the United States, discovering it has aired during the Olympics Games in Rio catapults it into a dream come true.  Huge thanks to everyone involved!

Woo Hoo!! I Won the Voice Over Collective Challenge!

The VO Collective, run by the great Jay Preston, recently ran a contest over at Indi for Voice Artists far and wide to record a selected :30 piece of commercial copy for a mystery judge from AVO Talent to hear.  The grand prize winner would receive a one hour session with the voice of AMC himself, Mr. Dave Fennoy.  (Turns out the mystery judge was none other than the amazing Everett Oliver!)

Tons of talented VO artists submitted and I’m honored and flattered to say I was the grand prize winner!   Check out everyone’s fantastic submissions here.

A huge thank you to Jay and Everett and Dave for organizing the contest!

Secret Origin

Like many voice actors, I started out performing on stage at a young age.  My first audiences were parents politely watching me and other children belt out our version of a Midsummer Night’s Dream or Christmas Carol before slumber parties and pizza.  Despite imitating everyone in my family or whoever was on television at that moment, my focus remained constricted to the stage or in front of a camera.  The idea of voice over never even occurred to me.  A voice was merely a tool to underline a performance, I thought, not the performance itself.  Hungry for a challenge, I decided it would be a great idea to move to South Korea and teach English to a bunch of Korean kindergartners.  Hey, I’m an actor!  I connect with audiences all the time.  What could go wrong?
